SRI-Ergonomics / Institute for Ergonomics at The Ohio State University is dedicated to ensuring safe and effective designs of work environments, equipment, and consumer products.  We accomplish this by determining both the physical and cognitive capabilities and limitations of people, and understanding how one's performance is affected by using different tools, work practices, and support technologies.

An Interdisciplinary Approach to Ergonomics

SRI-Ergonomics, part of the Spine Research Institute, continues a long tradition of ergonomics / human factors research and industry partnerships at Ohio State, with an emphasis on an interdisciplinary approach to system design.  To achieve this, we draw upon the extensive experience of faculty, staff, and students from a variety of disciplines, including industrial and systems engineering, biomedical engineering, public health, medicine, computer and information science, communication, industrial design, psychology, statistics, education, and physiology.

This interdisciplinary approach is applied to our group's activities, which focus on Consulting Services and Training for companies and organizations, as well as Education and Research Activities for students.
