Woods Cited by The Wall Street Journal on Pilot Training

In a November 21st, 2013 article in The Wall Street Journal, Dr. David Woods was mentioned regarding his role in a report that the Federal Aviation Administration is using to mandate major upgrades to commercial-pilot training rules.

Dr. Woods' view is that "past successes in training have reached a plateau" and "the consistent theme is that the role of pilots is changing."  So, to deal with current hazards, he believes that "training programs need to be refreshed and refocused" to take advantage of new research and technology.
